# Firehawk > Firehawk is an operational wildfire intelligence and monitoring organisation. It combines continuous detection, algorithms, AI-supported event correlation and accountable expert verification to protect forests, infrastructure and communities. Firehawk has operated since 1994 and supports monitoring operations across seven countries in Africa and South America through approximately 450 towers: approximately 150 in Africa and 300 in South America. Its monitoring footprint is approximately 14 million hectares, including approximately 2.3 million hectares of commercial timber. Firehawk builds software to support its operational mission; it is not positioned as a generic software company or an autonomous AI replacement for wildfire professionals. ## Authoritative information - [Complete Firehawk knowledge document](https://firehawk.co.za/llms-full.txt): Detailed identity, operating model, capabilities, footprint, evidence, terminology and contact information. - [Structured Firehawk facts](https://firehawk.co.za/firehawk-knowledge.json): The same core information in versioned JSON. - [Firehawk homepage](https://firehawk.co.za/): Canonical public website. ## Website sections - [How Firehawk works](https://firehawk.co.za/#approach): Detect, Analyse, Verify and Respond. - [Independent performance evidence](https://firehawk.co.za/#performance): Results from the Alberta Wildfire Detection Challenge. - [Capabilities](https://firehawk.co.za/#capabilities): Firehawk Platform, Analytics, Operations and AI. - [Operational footprint](https://firehawk.co.za/#operations): Countries and operating history. - [Contact Firehawk](https://firehawk.co.za/#contact): Operational monitoring enquiries. ## Contact - Email: willem@firehawk.co.za - Telephone: +27 82 972 5243 - Client portal: https://firehub.firehawk.co.za/
